What is Visual WebGui integration? ------------------------------------------- Visual WebGui is integrated into Visual Studio. The integration gives you sets of tools to manage the application at run time and in development. This feature simplifies the development of a VWG application with new menus, property tabs, templates and features. More Information: http://www.visualwebgui.com/Documentation/VWG/7/default.htm#Getting Started with VWG/VWG Integration with Visual Studio.htm 2. When I run the application I get a directory listing instead of the application. ------------------------------------------- In order to run a Visual WebGui application from visual studio you need to set the entry point to your application to a virtual Visual WebGui page. To do so you should right click on the form you want to be the start up form of the application and select "Set as start form". More Information: http://www.visualwebgui.com/Documentation/VWG/7/default.htm#Getting Started with VWG/Defining a Form as the Entry Point of the Application.htm 3. How do I define a virtual Visual WebGui page? ------------------------------------------- Open the project properties and go to the registration tab. In the application section click the add button. You see a list of forms that where not set as a page and able to select a form from that list. More Information: http://www.visualwebgui.com/Documentation/VWG/7/default.htm#Getting Started with VWG/Registering Namespaces and Controls using the Property Pages.htm 3. When I run the WGX page I get a message that the resource was not found. ------------------------------------------- Visual WebGui uses its own script map called wgx. The wgx extension is defined in the IIS manager and should have the same definitions as the aspx extension but without "check file exists". If you are getting this message it is either because you have not registered the script map or you have "check file exists" still checked in the wgx definition. More Information: http://www.visualwebgui.com/Documentation/VWG/7/default.htm#Getting Started with VWG/Configuring Handler Mappings on IIS.htm 4. How do I create a new form? ------------------------------------------- Right click your project and select Add. From the add menu select a Visual WebGui form or a Visual WebGui user control. More Information: http://www.visualwebgui.com/Documentation/VWG/7/default.htm#Getting Started with VWG/Working with VWG Forms.htm 5. How do I create a new device specific form? ------------------------------------------- Right click on an existing form and select Create a Device Specific Sub-Form. Select the desired device(s) from the dialog that opens. More Information: http://www.visualwebgui.com/Documentation/VWG/7/default.htm#VWG V7 - New Features/Form Factor.htm 6. How do I use a User Control? ------------------------------------------- The best way to do it at this point is to drag a panel to the form and switch to the *.design.vb or *.design.cs file and replace the declaration of the panel to your user control and the initialization of the panel to the user control type. More Information: http://www.visualwebgui.com/Documentation/VWG/7/default.htm#Getting Started with VWG/Creating VWG User Control and Adding it to a Form.htm 7. When I drag controls to the Visual WebGui designer I get an "Invalid WebGUI Control" message. ------------------------------------------- You are probably trying to drag a WinForms control or a non Visual WebGui control. Look for the Visual WebGui section in the toolbox and drag components from there.
